Our village has a long history. It was created  by the monks of Eaucourt l'Abbaye in the 11th century.

Completely destroyed in  the Summer 1916, the village was also rebuilt in 1920 with red bricks, in the Art Deco style.

Our village was captured on the 7th October 1916 by the 23rd  Division . It is closed to the Butte de Warlencourt, which was the furthest point that the British Army reached during the Big Push of 1916. The Butte is the property of The Western Front Association.
